Sephora Lip Attitude applies more butterily than Tom Ford's but it's coverage is on the natural side. Pink Dusk applies much lighter and the effect is younger looking than Indian Rose.Ĭomparing to some similar colors in my stash, Yves Rocher 2012 New Luminelle Lipstick has similarly moisturizing effects and longevity but achieves only about 70% the coverage of Tom Ford Lip Colors which is more than decent for a product of its class. Indian Rose and Pink Dusk look very similar here but they're very different on the lips. Tom Ford Lip Color 04 Indian Rose, 07 Pink Dusk & 15 Wild Ginger Swatches Taken with flash and the colors are quite accurate. Lasting power is great too, no running at the borders (I didn't apply lip pencil either). See how smoothly and evenly it covers, unlike Pink Dusk? I didn't even use a lip brush, just applied it directly with the tip of the bullet. Tom Ford Lip Color 15 Wild Ginger Lip Swatch Unlike most pigmented reds that tend to darken my lips and give me a nearly vampy look, this one brightens them and makes my lips look fuller! I love it! Wild Ginger also has that fluorescent quality that lights up the face when applied. I saved the best for last! TF 15 Wild Ginger is the most shockingly vibrant orangey red I've ever seen in a lipstick! And applies so smoothly and evenly! A lot of light colored lipsticks with this fluorescent quality look sickly on me but not this one, it hit a good balance between brightening effects and naturalness. Tom Ford Lip Color 07 Pink Dusk Lip SwatchĠ7 Pink Dusk has a brightness to it that's almost like fluorescence. This one tends to show lip lines after awhile but just press your lips together once and they disappear immediately. It's a cute beige pink that lights up the face and makes one look younger! Very pretty on fair to light skintones. This is a very popular choice and I can see why. If you have very pigmented lips and find most lipsticks do not provide enough color/coverage, Tom Ford is a good brand to try. Tom Ford lipsticks are indeed full coverage, all my freckles are covered and so is my real lip color. Tom Ford Lip Color 04 Indian Rose Lip Swatch The smell is delicious too, like a vanilla cream cake, I like the scent so much I almost bit the bullet off, XD. It's moisturizing and doesn't show lip lines. Perhaps hoping I already threw away the packaging and don't remember how much is included. The bottom sticker has no information on the exact amount like most lipsticks do. It's the only one here with noticeable shimmers but once on the lips the shimmers disappear, just a creamy color. Very fair skin may find it a little too dark and borders on being matronly. This is a mauvey pink, a great everyday color for light skintones.

When Was the Semi-automatic Transmission Developed?Īccording to, REO and General Motors started producing semi-automatic transmissions in 1934, which were easier to operate than fully manual transmissions. This transmission was given the name Dynaflow. In 1948, Buick was the first manufacturer to provide a hydraulic transmission with a torque converter. Throughout WWII, General Motors used the revolutionary automatic hydraulic gearbox in tanks and other military vehicles. This was mass-produced in 1940, and it irrevocably altered the course of the industry. General Motors bought the prototype and turned it into the Hydra-Matic transmission. Oldsmobile, Buick, and Cadillac used the transmission between 19.įernando Lehly Lemos and José Braz Araripe, two Brazilian engineers, invented the first hydraulic transmission in 1932. He created the automatic transmission with four forward speeds and no reverse or parking gears, and he used air pressure. Two epicyclic gear trains were employed in the transmission between 19, allowing four forward gears to be selectable by changing a single gear change lever.Īlfred Horner Munro, a Canadian steam engineer, invented the first automatic transmission in 1921, which he patented in 1923. The Wilson-Pilcher was the world’s first planetary transmission. The use of a planetary transmission in a vehicle’s gearbox was an advance that aided inventors in the development of an automated transmission. Weights would regularly fly apart, causing the transmission to fail, and the automated transmission they designed was notoriously difficult. The use of a planetary transmission in the car’s gearbox was an advance that aided inventors in the development of an automated transmission. Weights and bands controlled their two-speed “horseless carriage” transmission. The Sturtevant brothers of Boston attempted the first automatic transmission in 1904, according to Auto Repair San Antonio, till then manual transmissions were the only option for drivers. If the film itself does not contain any cast, it can be reused to create another set of photographs in proper chemical conditions. In the case of film, if photographs all contain the same cast, it is usually indicative of improper chemical development. If a filter is unavailable, flash is an alternative solution which usually provides enough neutral white light to counter the cast. Clouded sky, for example, requires a paler amber than clear blue sky. Colour temperature meters can read the temperature of the existing lighting conditions and guide the selection of the filter. A photographer chooses which filter to use based on the quality of the ambient light. Kodak's amber filters, for example, vary from palest yellow ("81C") to deepest amber ("85B"). Blue filters reduce the orange colour caused by incandescent light.Ī variety of coloured filters in varying degrees of intensity are available. Amber filters are used to reduce the blueish tint caused by daylight. For film, blue filters and amber filters are used to counter casts. Otherwise, photo editing programs, such as Photoshop, often have built in colour correction facilities. Most digital cameras try to automatically detect and compensate colour cast and usually have a selection of manually set white balance settings to choose from. The same photo with the colour cast corrected These may be correctable on a scanned version of the photograph with image editing techniques. Improper timing or imbalanced chemical mixtures can cause unwanted casts.Ĭolour casts can also occur in old photographs due to fading of dyes, particularly under the action of ultraviolet light. In film, colour casts can also be caused by problems in photo development. The human eye generally does not notice the unnatural colour, because our eyes and brains adjust and compensate for different types of light in ways that cameras cannot. Illuminating a subject with light sources of different colour temperatures will usually cause colour cast problems in the shadows.
